Jenn Burke has loved out-of-this-world romance since she was a preteen reading about heroes and heroines kicking butt and falling in love. Now that she’s an author, she couldn’t be happier to bring adventure, romance, and sexy times to her readers.Jenn is the author of a number of paranormal and science fiction romance titles, including the critically acclaimed Chaos Station science fiction romance series (authored with Kelly Jensen) and her newest series, Ashes & Dust, a spin-off of her fan-favorite Not Dead Yet series.
She’s been called a pocket-sized and puntastic Canadian on social media, and she’ll happily own that label. Jenn lives just outside of Ottawa, Ontario, with her husband and two kids, plus two dogs named after video game characters…because her geekiness knows no bounds.

There's not nearly enough sci-fi in this genre, and here's Jenn Burke filling that void--and doing a fabulous job of it, at that! With unexpected twists and turns, Jenn managed to fit the feel of a whole novel into this novella, and I couldn't put it down, start to finish. Excellent!
This book is a delight! I loved Ru so hard--he may only be half-human but he is fully relatable. Kerrick is everything Ru has ever wanted and thinks he can't have. This is a combination of a starting over and a redemption tale for both MCs, and I couldn't love it more. The world building is well-done, the romance sweet, and the plot satisfying. I love that there's a bit of an "Old West" feel to the world and the idea of a sheriff, too. Great prelude to a series!
Delightful, sexy, and charming. Burke writes like we're all living the words on the page.
