Bio
J. Elizabeth Vincent writes mostly speculative fiction because she has always seen reading and writing as a means of escape, a way to run away from real life—just for a little while—and get lost in the (im)possible.J. Elizabeth started writing at the age of 14. She spent her high school years telling her best friend fantastical stories all about the glamorous lives they would one day lead (well, maybe). These tales held everything from witches to vampires to rock concerts to boys with extremely talented teeth. Story notes were passed, and dirty looks were given by well-meaning teachers.
Nowadays, J. Elizabeth shares her love of writing with the rest of the world. Good stories unite us as human beings. They entertain us and give us hope, even when the world around us seems to be falling apart.
J. Elizabeth won second place in fiction in the 2016 Blue Ridge Writers Golden Nib contest for her suspense short story “Transgression” (published in Skyline 2017 ). Her fantasy short story “Fly,” the prologue to Raven Thrall, was published in November 2017 in the VWC Centennial Anthology 1918–2018.
J. Elizabeth’s debut novel, Raven Thrall, will be published in March 2018 and is now available for preorder at Amazon.com.
The second book in the series, Revelation of the Dragon, is well under way, and she also has an urban fantasy novel, Blood Mastery, under revision. She plans to add to her growing list of books and short stories as quickly as she can.
